Bible Study
The
Christian life is a call to a totally different way of living from the way that
the world lives. Its values are sometimes diametrically different from those of
the world. For instance, the call to love means sacrificial living, which the
world cannot understand. The call to committed Christian living sometimes
results in resentment and outright opposition and resistance from unbelievers.
To suggest that one should focus the purpose of his life and service on the
coming Kingdom often brings nothing but derision from the world. In some cases,
this situation has pushed some Christian teachers towards a tendency of
over-emphasizing the benefits of Christianity in this world to the detriment of
emphasis on the Kingdom of God.
