Welcome to festival of good books. During the conference, by the grace of God you will be given choice reading materials that are capable of transforming your life. Bookfest is about books that will damage your apathy, ruin your lethargy and inspire your heart to grasp the fullness of God's plan for your generation. We have trusted God to arrest and reverse what we perceive as abysmal reading culture of the Christian community in Nigeria where 'quick-fix' material thrives. This culture threatens to swallow the next generation -except something is done, and fast. Bookfest is our small effort at turning the tide, a desire to birth a people who "...study to show 'themselves' approved" before God and man through a lively reading culture among its future leaders. As usual the Gofest will bring about the harvest of life changing ministry impacting and vision casting books to the attendees. Thanks the God for the generosity of some of our partners and speakers. As always, George Verwer, Founder of Operation Mobilization has demonstrated his love for Nigerian youths and his passion to see them pursue the eternal purpose of God to its ultimate end for their lives. He has helped with two books – Priority One: What God Wants by Normal Lewis and Women on the Edge – by Deborah Meroff. Those two books should come with red-hot alarm! They will alter your lives; they will fill you with intense burning desire to do the will of God. Priority One put across again the issue of ownership of your life. What is the most important thing to you in life and how will you want your life to count. “Women on the Edge” reports in a gripping way, stories of women who are taking on the World, for God’s sake and this collection of remarkable stories of courage will cause you to cry. The book reveals how this vulnerability has been exploited by the global humanity at the expense of God’s eternal plan.
And if you are still wondering what God is up to with you in this world, you better stop wondering because He has a world-class dream for your life – giving a chance to make the difference the world and the Lord Himself is looking for. God has a worldwide agenda that can only be executed by those who have been delivered from a ‘local champion’ mentality. In a generation where everyone wants something small to call his own, in a society where first class thinking gives way to the local-lord syndrome, God is calling the upcoming generation of Nigerian youths and their mentors to think Globally. How to be World Class Christian by Paul Borthwick is a global resource put into one volume. There is nothing so pathetic than for a life to be spent pursuing the temporal when the eternal matters are feasible. Why must you foreclose the possibility of God using you to change the world? Why will anyone sacrifice the ultimate at the altar of the immediate? The only answer is when a life shifts its focus from the Author of Life and shrinks into survivalist spirit of this age. You have a choice. You can pursue the Priority of God as you labour like those advancing the kingdom of God under terrible circumstances. These are those who will not rest till they become the World Class Christian God ordained them to be!
